Patchwork and Quilting, with Passion

Sewing and knitting has always been a part of my universe since the age of six. One of my grandmothers gave me the bug. During our family stay in Tennessee from 1960 to 1963 I loved the sewing class in Home Economics at High School, but had never heard of quilting at that time. Back to Europe I studied Photography at the ENSAV Art School in Brussels.

I discovered Patchwork in 1994 in Jouy-en-Josas, the town of the famous « Toile » near Versailles. Shortly after that, my husband told me that we had to move to Houston. Very soon after our arrival, I joined the quilting group of Houston Accueil, the Kendall Bee, and the Guild of Greater Houston.

Returning to France in 1998 for three years, I started teaching Patchwork and Quilting in the Versailles area and discovered the rich history of the continent, especially France with the « Piqués de Marseilles » and Boutis from the 17th century and after. During a second stay in Houston, between 2001 and 2005, I learned and practiced longarm quilting.

Since our return, we are now living close to the Loire Valley. I continue my own work in Textile Art, and provide custom quilting services for customers. My work has been on display in multiple exhibitions, in France and at the Houston Quilt Festival. I am a member of IQA (International Quilt Association), SAQA (Studio Art Quilt Associates), France Patchwork, and I remain in contact with the Kendall Bee and the Quilt Guilt of Greater Houston.
