Monumental tapestries

"Lights of the Loire river", "14-18 Tears" and "Wedding Flowers"

These tapestries (88 feet wide by 208 feet high) were conceived and made in 2013, 2014 and 2015 at the request, and with the help, of the members of the museum "Loire et Métiers" for the yearly exhibits that focused on local textiles (hemp and linen), WW1 and weddings in Anjou.

Peoples of the World

This set of tapestries (6 feet wide by 14 feet high each) was made from 2010 to 2013 at the request of the Protestant Church in Angers following a brief exhibition of "Quilting the World" there in 2006. The construction method is the same. The panels of fabric from various countries and cultures were given by Church members, collected during touristic travels, or found in flea markets.

Quilting the World

In 2004, St. Thomas Presbyterian Church in Houston asked me to make a quilt for Advent and Christmas time. I imagined the gathering of people represented in this work by the fabrics of their culture.
The two very large hangings are 6 feet wide by 18 feet high. Holes are cut through the quilt, and when lit from behind, they look like the Christmas stars of hope.
